A lighthearted ¨gear¨thread...
Which is your favorite camera of the moment (that you actually use often)?
Note: This is basically for amateurs and pros who do personal work. I understand completely that if you work for a living, you may have to use the tools that fit the job and not what you enjoy.

I own a lot of really great cameras. but the ones that I probably use the most is some flavor of the Olympus XA, because I usually have one in my pocket no matter what other camera is in my hands or around my neck. And at the end of the day, more often than not, many my best photos are made with the XA. There is something to be said for simplicity.

Answering depends on what I'm in the mood for.
For 35mm film, it'd be the Minolta CLE or, if portability is paramount, then the Olympus XA or XA4.
For 35mm digital, the Leica M-D.
For 120, a Plaubel Makina 67W.
If I could only have one absolute favorite I'd take the M-D.

For me, the Fujifilm X-Pro2 w/ 35mm F2. I just love using it and it does exactly what I need. So much so that I don´t get swayed by all of the new cameras that come out. I guess until the X-Pro3... :bang:

My default camera for some time now has been the Leica M-D typ 262, usually fitted with either a Summicron-M 50 or my lovely old Summilux 35 v2.
Lately, however, I've been shooting most with the Light L16.
(The Leica SL, fitted with the Macro-Elmarit-R 60 or one of the SL zooms, is always ready for anything that either of the above two are inappropriate for...)

what?
My overall favorite camera is the XPro1 (I'll add, with the XF 35/1.4 lens).
The XA1 and XE1 are just one step behind the favorite, however.

I have three 35mm film cameras: Olympus OM1, OM4, and OM4Ti. I most often use my OM4Ti with its bright 2-13 screen. The lenses I probably most often use are my 24mm f2.8 and 50mm f2 macro.

For personal projects and contest I'm in since February - Bessa R2M, Zorky or M4-2 are in the every day, everywhere bag with me.
Bessa and Zorky gets more use, but I'm not counting it precisely which one is mostly in use.
I develop once a week. Sometimes four rolls. Printing twice per month or so.
For family pictures - Canon 500D is my camera I'm using most. I print few times per week to keep inks flowing.

A nicely out of date Panasonic G5, its nice and small so minimum fatigue on long walks and I like the output. Ask me in a couple of months and it could be another depending if I find some bargain or effectively free camera.

Favorite camera right now is definitely my Nikon S2 w/3.5cm f1.8.
Unfortunately too many current projects don't lend themselves to that camera.
Best,

For sentimental reasons, a chrome Olympus OM-1MD with a Zuiko 50/1.4 lens. It's the camera and lens I started with many years ago. I've tried lots of other cameras, and liked most of them, but none has taken the place of that camera and lens as my "favorite".

Simple and boring: a Leica M6 with one of the more recent tabbed 28-35-50 elmarits and summicrons and for portraits preferably combined with a medium format camera of any kind.
