Your favorite camera this year

Mine is a tie. Pentax 6x7, because of the freakin awesome image quality. Yashica T4, because often I get stuck in this world of nearly perfect composition and uptight exposure and the yashica sets me free 😀

Tough call. For me it's between my Rolleiflex T and my Canon 5D. The Rollei has opened my eyes to the possibilities and enjoyment of film, but the 5D has really helped me produce some wonderful images this year.

I try to use all my cameras, but ones I seem to have used most/prefered to use were :
Epson RD1s
Hexar RF
Bessa R2
Canon A1
Pentax UC1

My best images have honestly come from my M8. Favorite to use has been the late arriving Rolleiflex D. I love using that camera. I need to give it a bright-screen but otherwise it is perfect. I have a Fuji 6x9 RF on the way. The Rolleiflex and big Fuji RF will be 1,2 next year for personal projects 😀

well, it's not full frame...it's only 6 mp and the batteries could last a bit longer - but it has great colour and works just fine at 800 and 1600 iso (not that i use it that high too often) and it has a thumb lever!!

yes, i love the rd1 and plan to keep them till they are unrepairable & unuseable.

I have at least two categories for this question...
Working gear...That would be the Nikon F5...I just love the feel of it and how easy it is to shoot with...B&W negs come out beautiful with this camera...
Fun gear...The Mamiya m645 is the one I grab first...second is the Pentax Spotmatic SP with it's very sharp Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens...if I can have a third it would be the Yashica Mat 124...
The Mat and Mamiya both have WLF's and it gives you a different perspective on things and it suits my style just fine...
The Spotmatic reminds me of my first camera (M42 lens mount) , it's old school and just plain cool to be seen with...plus that lens is killer...

Tough one. My IIIf has been a great performer, M2 became completely healthy and ever smooth this year, MP got further modified and because truly my own.

But the 1932 Leica II is probably my fav of the year. Rediscovery of super compact early Barnack, coupled with tiny collapsible Elmar 50/3.5 is really priceless. There is no excuse not to carry this tiny little package even when I have a heavy load of stuff.

I thought your 9x12 might be on the list. Have you not used it? Even with aux lenses they are still a joy with that large negative.
...

😱 Still gathering guts to go shoot it...

I've cleaned up the film holders you sent me and have a box of film. Until now I've always used the (tiny) cellar and one shelf there to (un)load 120 and 135 film. Now I need to blind the bathroom door window and rig up some working space over the washing bowls there so I can load the film holders.

Next week is holidays but already filled with lotsa small chores, next holiday is February 21st to 27th. Still in time for the nice season, I reckon!

I got an M8 11 months ago and it has been an amazing camera. I've shot more with the M8 in this last [nearly] year but it still holds the backseat to my M4.
...then I got an M9...
That is the game changer. Though there are still things i would love the M9 to be capable of doing that film does better, the M9 is just a spectacular camera. Im kind of in awe every time i shoot it but it still isn't an extension of me like that M4 is. So its a toss up netween the M4 and the M9 right now.
Then again, i do love my fully restored Anniversary Speed Graphic...

I got my IIIc overhauled and CLA'd early in 2010, and it quickly became my favorite shooter. The compact size and rugged build made it the carry along of choice and it's just plain fun to shoot. I mainly used it w/ an Elmar 50/3.5 or a CV Skopar 50/2.5.

The M2, Bessa T, and XA also saw lots of use, but the Barnack stole the show.

This year, oddly, was the D1X. My first DSLR (so cheap), but it takes all my old AI lenses. Fun to see what all the digital talk is about.

Now I've put some XP2 in the Bessa R for Christmas morning ~ ; - )
