Your favorite filter?

Multicoated UV for lens protection on all lenses.

Occasionally a polarizer if the light is right, and the lens is not too wide.

A yellow or orange for B&W film.

I love what the Polarizer will do, even with B&W...I need to use it more often...
I use a Deep Yellow on most cameras dedicated to B&W...
I have a #85 Warming filter on one lens and it also works with B&W film...it's a 67mm filter that I found in the bargain bin...it was brand new in the box...
I bought into the Cokin system years ago but don't use half of what I got...

If using it more means favorite then I guess it would be UV. But that is more protection than filter use for how a filter affects film. I don't use any filters like I used to, but even then it depended on an effect I wanted. No real favorite.

My fav. and most used filter is an Orange (Cokin P)
Ive never really used UV filter's, I did have a Heliopan UWA (thinner) UV0 filter for my Canon 20/2.8, but only becuase the front element was so huge and seriously needed the protection, you could loose touch of how close your subject was, it focused so close.

I dont believ there is much dif. between Yellow and Orange or even Red.
From my experience the images turn out very similiar, I like using Orange becuase its the median.

Pola of course is in most photogs bag, great for snowscapes on the F3.

A custom made screw-on 2-stop grad ND filter for my CV15/4.5

from a Singh-Ray Galen Rowell Filter plate 84x 120 mm.
Cut out by an optician and put into a cheap Tama U-Slim Digital UV Filter ring.

Generally I dont like screw-on grad NDs but this one has a super soft transition that compensates dynamic range nicely without artifacts.

I never use filters. Never.
I always shoot in Raw, then I can use post-treatment as I want.
BUT with I'm always carrying with me neutral filters in case of danger to the lens (projected, riots and all the like).

I got a red one but I need a step down ring for it to fit my 28mm. I thought I would get another one. I am thinking yellow. I also want to have the option of slowing the lens some in bright light.

Use: K2, UV, Polarizer, Orange (orange only on my Polaroid 250)

Favorite & Most: K2

Want to try
: Yellow/Green, Yellow/Orange, ND, Red

I just picked up a neat "Actina" hood+filter set for my Retina IIa that came with Blue, Orange, Yellow, and Green filters. I haven't tried them yet though...
