David Hamilton. He's the only photographer that I ever heard of that would take sandpaper to the front element of his lenses, but he got some beautiful photographs! He understood the concept of lenses being tools, and you need to use the proper tool for the job at hand. I you can't buy one off the shelf you modify what you can get.

Adore: Steichen, Weston in his pictorialist phase (when he was sleeping with Mather), Demachy, photogenics of Lotte Jacobi.
Scared of: Avedon (completely untouchable), Karsh, and Arnold Newman.
Wish I could be: Ralph Gibson, and hey, Bryan Adams (who I believe also once played guitar).
