your favorite SLR

My original black Nikon F, used it as a yearbook photographer in high school, college-Brooks Institute of Photography, work-Sandia National Labs. In fact I just had it CLA, plan on using it more.

There are a lot of really cool SLRs (Heresy!). My favorite to use is the Olympus OM-4T. If I could only have one, that is it. I think the Nikon F2 is really cool and have always wanted one, but never got around to buying. The Canon F1N (the New F1) is neat too. I fondled one in a camera shop in Albuquerque and didn't have the money to buy it at the time. A few weeks later, I did but it was gone! Oh well, I have three OM-4T bodies and I love them, they get my vote for the BEST.

Id have to say my Hasselblad 500cm is my all time favorite SLR.

I had a FM2n an loved it. My Nikon kit used to be a fm2n and a FE. One always loaded with color the other with B&W. Unfortunately, I sold both in my last major gear culling session :(
I miss them both a LOT!

Another vote for Pentax LX

My favorite SLR will have to be my Hasselblad 501CM. This is the SLR I like to use the most.

My emotional favorite will have to be my Pentax Spotmatic I bought new in 1966.

I have a Nikon F2a, F2, F4s, F4e, F5, FM (2), FE (2) and a set of Pentax MX's...
My all time favorite would be the first Nikon FE that was given to me...that's the one that got me started on the road to Nikon...
I shot a lot of Velvia with that camera and was always impressed with the meter...even the difficult shots came out beautiful...
Emotionally the FE gets my vote...

i have the FM2n, and the Minolta x700 with me everywhere.. though i go with my minolta if i have night shoots because i have a fast lens for it, though my FM2n is my main workhorse... and i love it.. i use it mainly for street, portraits, etc.. everything..

ive been eyeing one olympus om1n with a couple of lenses included for a very cheap price.. im still thinking about it.. what do you guys think?

I must admit I love my Exas' but they aren't the most user friendly and they are for left handed people. That being said my best of all time SLR is the OM4T and I did pay list price when it was first on the market. The metering is the best I've ever seen. It's manual focus, I like to make my own decisions on that. I fell off of a mountain and spent time in the hospital, so my camera has more dimples than a golf ball and it still works perfectly with no servicing. Oh, and I love the OM lenses. My OM1, Praktica, Canon, and Nikon are OK :) . I have a Zenit.

Hard to choose...

All F-mount. Left to right - Kiev 19, Nikon F3 HP, Nikon D700.

Favourite? None of them :) Well, maybe F3 a bit, and I did shoot Kiev for quite some time years ago. And D700 is most comfortable of them all. But still none my favourite.

Without a doubt it's the Hasselblad 500 C/M for me. I've owned an FM2 for the past twenty four years and my fascination with it comes and goes (it's in a downswing at the moment). Shooting with the Hasselblad on the other hand has been a constant treat from both a handling perspective and the results. Those 6x6 negatives offer all the tonality I wish for and the camera can be hand-held enough that I don't feel confined (condemned?) to a tripod with it.

Oops, forgot Hasselblad. For sure - Hassie is not only my favourite SLR, it just might be my favourite camera! (and I've never even used it on a tripod).

Canon T90 with a 50/1.4 on it. No other SLR comes close. Many are good; a handful are great but there remains only one tank. Nothing else, by any maker, comes close...
