There's a lot of great work in this thread. I miss contributions from RayPA, Papercut, and Tuna, who have produced some wonderful street photos over the years. I hope they post some samples (hint hint).
It may be a bit subtle for other viewers, but for me this encapsulates the recent economic problems in Greece. The banner proclaims an unemployment protest. Yet the young lady dressed in Gucci, Prada, Burberry, etc. is oblivious to it. The taxi has an ad on its side for an internet mail order retailer, a business that has undoubtedly contributed to unemployment among full service retailers in the city. And typical Greek resistance to authority is represented by a van, taxi, and motorcycle parked in a tow-away zone.
One shouldn't have to provide a lengthy explanation of a good photo, so this will probably not win any awards. But, it's a personal favorite of mine for the reasons I've stated.
