The Zeiss 28 is a fine lens optically, but be wary of the Zeiss wobble. It's made my chrome 28 almost unusable. Will have to get it fixed sooner or later, along with my Ikon which has bricked itself out of nowhere.

It depends. I've heard of some people fixing it by unscrewing the front 'text ring' and then going inside the lens, also/alternatively by removing the lens mount ring and going in there, but there are other issues like the internal lubricant drying up.
Both issues happened to mine, to the extent that when I took off the lens mount ring, the internal helicoid had long, curved scratch/scuff marks, right through the black coating and down to the brass. Not cool.
This has also happened to a lesser extent to my ZM Biogon 25mm f2.8. It's likely that continued use will cause it to suffer the same fate, so I've stopped using it until I get them in for repair. My 21mm Biogon, being one of my primary travel lenses, is fortunately fine. I can't seem to find a commonality between the lenses that have had this issue, like date of manufacture, focal length or batch.
Last year or so, I tried a Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4, and it felt BEAUTIFUL. The focus was smooth but really firm, with no hint of scuffiness, wobble or uneven damping. That lens is definitely on the list.

There are three different cones, for lenses of different focal lengths. I’d get all three and have 3 excellent lenses put on them.
I reckon most of the 20K will be gone by then but I’ll have a camera to last me a lifetime.

I like the cut of your jib. A chrome MP with the classic 35 and 50, along with a Mamiya. Nice. I now wish I'd bought the chrome MP I held at Camera Exchange about 12 years ago.

Exactly the same problem with mine. A year ago, I found some temporary relief by tightening the second black back ring by hand. The wobble returned a few months later. My Biogon 2/35 is of the same age as the 28 and it still works flawlessly.

I feel your pain. I passed up an MP for 2500aud used at one point about 10-12 years ago :bang:
Hell, I remember a mint m6 at camera exchange only 5-6 years ago for something outrageous like 1600ish.

I’d like to buy a fully equipped darkroom somewhere in the old town (in my city), but 20k does not pay even for the space 🙂. Am I allowed to pay with this money for a “photography trip” (when covid ends)?

I have all the cameras and lenses I want or need. My computer and printer are both getting a bit old so I would probably replace them with a new fully equipped iMac and Epson. Buy a lot of Epson, Canson and Hahnemuhle matte paper and Epson inks and see if the photo shop has a travel agency on premises so I could plan a trip or two.

I'd really like this 150 MP field camera - it'd suit me perfectly! But $20,000 only buys me a third of this $60,000 camera! Review of the Phase One XT.

My storeroom is better stocked than any camera store I have been in in the last ten years, so I have no idea what they could possibly offer me that I would need.

It’s all in good fun... I’m not GASing too hard either. Anything I’d buy now would just be extra. I was just bored. I did this same thread in another site and it was completely weighted towards the latest and greatest digital. Here, I knew it would be different. The only similarity has been... Leica.

Leica M10. Leica M9 monochrom. iMac 27 inch. Macbook 17 inch. Film, paper and chemicals. Yeah, a printer I guess with lifetime supply of inks. Does this store have fountain pens? A Hasselblad moon-type camera with the special 60mm biogon. (That last ought to round out the 20 grand).
Edit: Ten months later (May 13, 2021), my answer is not too different, with a just a small update. I might get an M10 instead of an M9M; or I might as well get both. I probably don't need another fountain pen. Somehow I would still like that special Hassie, even though I don't need pictures with crosses in them. I would love that special 60mm Biogon.
