Nikonian!
Hi everyone
A year and a half ago I bought myself a Zeis Ikon Ikoflex
This one to be exact.
I bought one just to put on my shelf, but half a year ago I decided to see what pictures I could get out of this beauty. I put a roll through it, and it works fine.
The only problem I have is that the finder is pretty dim: I took it apart this weekend and the only problem is that the mirror is fading and really old.
I'm going to see this week if I can find someone who can cut me a mirror in the same dimensions, and see if that helps.
Any other tips on maybe taking apart the lenses, because it looks like they're a little fogged up on the inside.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow of my exact specimen.

Thanks everyone, great input. I'll just have a mirror made around here. Would be stupid to have a mirror mailed from anywhere in the world to Ecuador, if I can get one made in the same dimension around the corner here for probably 50 cents.
Thanks Hans for the pictures, will be a great help. Hopefully I can get to it tonight. Ik zal laten weten hoe het gegaan is!

Remember that you need a first-surface mirror. Not necessarily the easiest item to find in my experience.

And what happens if I install a 'normal' mirror?

Focus will be incorrect.

Damn, I'll see if I can find one like that. Doubt it though. There isn't a way to clean the current mirror? It's oxidized around the edges and a little dim.

I think that's the Ikoflex Ia -- I have one with different name badge but it's the same camera, I think. This is a really nice camera, and the Novar lens will amaze you. Mark Hansen is a big fan, and he can replace the mirror. Here's the Ikoflex writeup from his webpage: http://www.zeissikonrolleirepair.com/page04.html

Cheap sources for surface mirrors are some types of Polaroid cameras. You can remove the mirrors and cut them to size if you are a bit handy. Check the thickness of the Original mirror. The overall thickness of a replacement has to be the same. Add shims if necessary.

The things is I live in Ecuador, and whatever I buy online, I have to add 15 dollars and a month shipping time for everything, so I'll first see if I can't find it over here.. All the links you guys posted are really helpfull btw! Thx
