Wondering will this lens pull up the 90 mm frameline on a Leica M camera. Any other thoughts?

Yes - 90mm frames.

I'm pleased with mine on an M2. The Tele-tessar is complimentary to my 50mm Planar and 35mm Biogon f/2, which all take 43mm filters. I've not felt limited by its f/4.
My latest ZM is the 21mm f/4.5. 46mm filters...arghh! Maybe I need a ZM Sonnar and a Elmarit-M go with it???

I mostly carry and shoot with my ZI 85mm and 25mm on the M9. Love the results; somewhat on the cooler side which makes the pix snap. With the 85mm remember the full image is more than the 90mm frame lines; the 25mm is also more than the 28mm frame lines.

I was wondering a couple things about this lens. Would be much appreciated if any users of it can answer them:
Can it be safely stepped down from 43mm to 39mm filter thread?
How much more area would I get on my neg when I frame with the 90mm frame lines of my LEICA M3?
Thanks in advance!

I also have 35/2 Biogon, 85/4 Sonnar, 21/4.5 Biogon. I use them on M6, M4. I recently got Ikon ZM. Still waiting. I think of getting rid of M4...
