Adapters for the LTM lenses out there seem to abound. However, I am not at all familiar with the Zeiss Contax lenses so I have a question about adapters for these lenses. Would the Zeiss lens mounts be different? If so are there adapters out there for mounting the Zeiss lenses to say micro 4/3's or Nikon F camera bodies. I appreciate any answers as I found a decent deal on a 135mm Sonnar but don't know how, or if I can adapt it to anything I have.

I use a micro 4/3 adapter with a Zeiss SLR lens. The adapter costs about $30 on ebay. There are adapters for almost any lens to fit a micro 4/3 camera.

Are you referring to the Contax IIa mount? There are adapters to mount the lens to Leica M and LTM cameras, such as from Amedeo, and other third party vendors.

I have to learn to make sharper images with the micro 4/3. When I use a tele lens, the digital images appear very sharp, but with wide angle lenses, I need to get more practice. The EP-2 is great for low light scenes.

i'm considering an NEX. i had an m4/3 and liked a lot about it but the image quality wasn't what i hoped it would be (granted, i shot a lot of JPG).

Thank you for the replies. Yes Vickko, that is indeed the type of lens I was referring to and I appreciate the links. Will go ahead and purchase the lens and a couple of the adapters including the Leica M adapter. Thank you.
The 135/4 Sonnar sells for under $100 or so. The Nikkor 13.5cm F3.5 is available in Leica thread mount for about the same cost. Same basic formula. I have a 13.5cm F4 Contax heading my way, was $75 on Ebay with a Walz vented hood. I will try it.
The Amedeo adapters are very good, and I can use mine with the S-Mount 10.5cm F2.5 with perfect accuracy.

using contax lenses via the amadeo adapter takes a little bit of getting used to but the adapter is a quality piece of work.

If you don't want to mount a 50mm, any of the "budget" Contax-to-NEX adapters without inner bayonet will do - these are about as cheap as any SLR mount adapter. Contax adapters with inner bayonet and helicoid are far more complex and accordingly expensive - but only the (arguably excellent) normals go into the inner bayonet and need them, the rest attaches to the outer.
