Zeiss for canon?

i think some time ago a birdy told me that there was Zeiss Jena lenses in canon mount (fl fd or something) is this true? if so what were they

I know they now make ZE mount zeiss lenses for canon....

Have seen on our auction site an FD mount Zeiss zoom or 135mm lens.
Some time ago now.

You can also get adapters, like M42 to FD for example.

The Zeiss lenses are for Canon SLRs not screw mount rangefinders BTW.

so i need to look for a 20/2.8 zeiss? is that what he was saying

did other german companies make any for the canon mount, Schneider, Rodenstock et all?

This question turns up at regular intevals at all the photography forums!

These lenses are what I call the "British" series. In 1985, the British arm of Carl Zeiss Jena acquired the blessings from Jena, to market a series of Japanese-made lenses under the Carl Zeiss Jena name, the zoom lenses all shared the name Jenazoom. They were sold as another independent label series of lenses, back by the British firm.

And I just bought it(VEB Carl Zeiss Jennazoom 35-70 f3.5 to 4.5 FD mount) on the ebay for around $30 including shipping!! I plan to use it on my unlce's AE-1(which has the 50 f1.4 as part of kit!!)

Keep those expectations under check. Licensing a name and making a product under license aren't the same thing.
