Hi all,

I have a Monochrom but am posting here to get more hits.

I have an opportunity to get a Zeiss G 21/2.8 converted from Contax G to M mount. I have read varying reports about use on FF Sony cameras but relatively nothing about performance on Leica digital. Any experience?

Thanks
André

I have such a converted G lens for a Planar 45/2, and it rocks on digital. The 21mm may do differently, though.

I recently got a hawks converted 21mm from another RFF member and have been using it on my M240.

Meters fine in classic mode, no color shifting italian flag stuff that I can see, vignetting is normal\expected levels, and is just generally a fantastic lens on the M camera. I bought a wide angle vented hood on ebay for 12$ (no addl vignetting that I can see) and have it coded as the Elmarit-M 1:2.8/21 ASPH.

I've only had the lens for a short time, and being winter here with less light and being cold, I havent shot it as much as I'd like, but have gotten some pretty good results. Here's what I've got right now.

Let me know if you have any other questions

EDIT
Also, when I was considering the 21mm purchase myself, I came across these two flickr pages.

He appears to be shooting the 21mm on an M9

And this guy appears to be shooting the 21mm on an M240 as well, and even some in IR
