I bought (online) a Zeiss Ikon (netter?) with a Klio shutter. The problem is that that on the inside of the lens there's some kind of opaque looking film. I can see through it, but I'm wondering if it will affect the photos. Can it be fixed? Is it worth it? The camera is in other wise very good condition.

The haze will definitely affect the pictures. It's easy to clean the lens. Here's a link to a service guide for an Agfa Isolette: http://www.davidrichert.com/AGFA rebuild/agfa.htm. That's the closest to a Nettar I could find, but the idea of dissasembly and cleaning is the same. It's also worth doing, especially resetting the focus, because old folders work better than you'd imagine.

What you would need to do:

1) Remove the front and rear lens elements. Clean all surfaces. Clean the middle lens element, front and rear. Possible difficulties: Rear element might not be screwed in to the shutter. It might be held in place by a snap ring, which is difficult to remove -- possibility of chipping the lens.

2) Replace the rear element. Make sure the rear element goes back in with the convex side facing away from the shutter.

3) Recollimate the lens. That is, reset infinity focus.
