Zeiss Ikonta serial number list

Just picked up a Super Ikonta IV. Anyone know where I can find a list of Zeiss Ikonta serial numbers to date my camera? Thanks ahead of time!

Most probably you'd be better off trying to date the lens.

I'm not even aware of the location of the serials, if they should have any. The lens is your best bet - the Zeiss factory books (which allow for identifying each lens) have been reprinted, and excerpted lists (which are generally good enough to date a lens down to one or two years accuracy) are about on the net.

Try the Zeiss Ikon Group over on YAHOO. Lots of knowledge and serial # info there

IIRC the serial number is embossed on the leather, in one side (opposite to the model type)

It is on the hinge side of the door on the B/BX. There does not seem to be any serial on my III - perhaps that one received a unnumbered replacement door.
