Zeiss Jena 5cm 1.5 (1938) and Leica M10

I keep returning to my old lenses. They have a charm to them somehow. This one is a Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm 1.5 Sonnar which Brian S has converted into ltm. It is a very sharp lens. I once posted an extensive RFF thread on photos taken by me in Italy with M 4/3 cameras, and my two lenses there were the Panasonic 25/1.4 and this Zeiss 5cm 1.5. It has "problems", of course, but these issues can be viewed as special characteristics.

What may appear as a focus shift in some of the images was my focusing on some objects and not the people shown. I then took "selfies" in the mirror with the CV APO 50/2 and the Zeiss. Both lenses seem to be focused well.

That's really interesting Raid. When I first looked at the images I thought "I didn't know Carl Zeiss Jena made a 5cm LTM lens." then I realized Brian S had converted it for you.

I really enjoy using my old Nikkor LTM glass on my Leica digitals, gives a unique look that I enjoy a bit more than the technical perfection of modern glass.

I have several Zeiss lenses that are LTM. Most came to me from Brian, but I got one from ebay 50/2 that someone (???) converted to ltm by placing the glass elements inside what appears to be an elmar shell.

Hi Robert. I used the same lens with the E-PL1 during our trip in Italy a few years ago. That camera had IS system and a 10x focus assist, so I was able to focus with it easily. Here, I used the M10. The colors look nice with this lens.
