I recently contacted Mr.Zhou via eBay regarding a half case for nikon rf's-specifically the S2. As many if you know he seems to make quality half cases for a reasonable price but does not currently make them for nikon rf's. He told me the only reason he doesnt make them is because he doesn't own a body to base his design around. He was fond of the idea of making them so if anyone has an extra body laying around that you are looking to sell contact Mr.Zhou. He told me he would give me a case for free if I had an extra body to sell (which I'm debating bug most likely cannot part with).

I offered up the suggestion of a "loaner" body but he said he would need to keep it permanently if he planned on making cases for everyone and would need to purchase a body.

FYI, Luigi cases designed for the early Leica M3 with the "Buddha ears" strap lugs fits the Nikon RFs perfectly.

Otherwise, I can't see why Mr Zhou wouldn't be able to buy a Nikon RF body somewhere if he wanted one. They haven't become as rare as gold dust.

Anyway those cases are nothing else than a pain in the ass when it comes to change film. And there is no film camera you can reasonably use w/o changing films regularly, unless you don't load them with film.

I hold a different opinion regarding shooting film in a camera wrapped in a leather case. Both of my RF bodies -- M7 and SP -- are wrapped in leather. The case muffle shuttle noise a bit, and it really does protect these cameras: from slight bumps to minor accidental beverage spills. Also, less dings on the camera body means higher resale value when I pass the cameras on to others. That extra 5 secs it takes dealing with the leather case when film loading is a small inconvenience to pay.

(OK, those 5 secs could lead to missing shots. But if my livelihood depends on it, I would use a digital and save me those 60 secs changing film...)

My cameras do not leave home w/o their jackets.

BTW, I do have an extra SP body to sell...
