Zhou Neck Straps

Hi all,

I am kinda new to the leica world, only had my camera for a few months and already the stock standard leica strap is getting in the way, it's too small and not very comfortable.

Wondering if anyone here has a Zhou strap? I don't want to spend too much money on a strap, especially the Artisan or Luigi ones. Anything over $60 doesn't seem right.

Has anyone had any problems with this strap?

i love the zhou half cases and wrist straps...never used a long strap of his...

for cheap and made to your requested length and for a strap that seems to stay out of the way...it's hard to beat gordy's straps...

I use the straps (one knot version) on my Ms. The leather is very soft and comfortable around your neck.
I have both the old production batch and one quite new one. The later sees some improve in leather.
I do recommend at current price.

I just got an M8 and it came with a Zhou neck strap. I haven't really had a chance to use it yet but it is much nicer then the Leica one. Very comfortable too.

Don't use those straps, But, I have bought of 2 these straps... Thick Leather, adjustable nylon with a bag of parts for any type of camera lug.

Make sure you TELL them what color you want... but, they may still ship a different color if the color you ordered is Out of stock..$40.00 shipped

I don't care for the Leica straps either. One thing, if I'm wearing a non-collared shirt, the gripper bumps on the rubber pad irritate my neck. Another thing, the webbing keeps slipping through the fasteners leaving the loop uneven and bulging, and it takes quite a tug to straighten it out.

I bought several of the canvas/cloth Voitlander straps on a closeout sale a few years ago. They have leather protector fobs on the ends with "Voitlander" slik screened on them, but a little acetone on a cotton swab takes it right off. I like these straps because they are not adjustable, but happen to be the exact length I like. The pad is not textured, which I prefer because I wear a camera around my neck (yes, tourist-style), not over my shoulder.

The thing I like most about a cloth strap vs stiff nylon or leather, is that I can wrap it snugly around the camera when I put it in the bag.

I have bought several Zhou neck straps. I can highly vouch for them. They are soft and supple and of perfect length for me to hang on the shoulder. They are much cheaper than Luigi and A&A straps of course.

Aperture UK are planning to sell their own adjustable strap with soft leather. I saw this wonderful strap (made in Italy). However it's quite expensive (iirc, around 85 GBP).

Question about A&A, New Matin and Zhou neck straps: do they include the appropriate hardware for attaching them to the strap rings affixed to the sides of the camera body

I can recommend this brand as well, it's Korean, fast-shipping and the quality is good.

Actually.......... Zhou straps are better quality than Luigi's. Speaking from personal experience. My Luigi strap started falling apart the first day of use. Admittedly I bought it second hand, but still. Sure am glad I didn't pay ridiculous full price for it. On the back of this experience I will never buy any overpriced Luigi products. I'd rather go for Zhou's quality over Luigi's "luxury".

The Domke Gripper straps are great for Leica M's and manual wind SLR's. The come in under $20 for 1.5" wide and under $15 for 1" wide. You guys can keep your leather. I prefer the The Domke Canvas with the rubber impregnation on one side. The "swivel" rings make a world of difference also. The strap is never in the way of eye position.
