I cannot find the answer to this anywhere else, so here goes. I had a chance to try the Bessa R3A and noticed that the rangefinder patch does not have any parallax correction, i.e., the framelines move but the patch does not. Does the ZI rangefinder patch operate in the same manner?

Thanks Back Alley. Can you confirm that the 40/1.4 brings up the 50 framelines in the ZI?

it's not necessary for the patch to move, since that's used to focus but not compose
joe, I've got a 40/2 Summicron.. how about sending the ZI over and I'll see what framelines it brings up?

The 40mm lens brings up the 50mm frame lines. For those who would prefer to use the 35mm lines i have read that it is possible to adjust the flange (with a file) to match that of a 35mm lens. I would need to be feeling pretty brave to set about the back of the lens with a file frankly! CV make a finder for the 40mm lens.
As for the RF patch thing - it is due to the design of the RF system for details see the diagrams on http://www.imx.nl/photosite/comments/c021.html In practical use (I have both the ZI and an M7) it makes no odds that it does not move. If you wear glasses the ZI VF is a winner. It is huge and the frames are easy to see.
