Hello to all Sonnar lovers out there!
Re-evaluating all my negatives the last days, I found that the ones I took (B/W to say) with my old Kiev 4 and the postwar Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 2/50 are the most pleasing to me, concerning tonality, Bookeh, rendering of the shadows, well, that Sonnar look.
But that Kiev is a really difficult old mama, although i do like the handling of it the viewfinder is just too dark and small and the whole framing part becomes more of a guessing thing...
So...
I am really tempted to get the ZM 1.5/50, which means I need a complete new camera system (no Leicas here😉), means to sell all my medium format gear...
To get me out of this recent GAS attack, could you post some comparisons between the old and the new Sonnar line?
What I love about my Zeiss Jena Sonnar is the smooth rendering, while still crisp and clear. Quite sharp also. It also seems that I get one more Zone in B/W out of my old Sonnar, especially between Zone III/IV (but thats not scientific).
