Usually I use the manual focus mode to prefocus first and use as zone focusing for street photography, however, the focusing ring is easy to alter so the prefocus always shifted from time to time.

I read a post in dpreview (http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3485783) that instead of the M mode, I should use the AF-S and AFL to prefocus, so the ring does not matter at all. It works, however, in the LCD does not have an indicator of AFL being enforced, which is quite strange.

Do you guy also use AFS mode this way?
Or other method to lock the focus in manual mode?

I admit it does take some practice to keep your fingers away from the lens focus collar.

I just operate the AF manually in MF mode using the AE/AF Lock Button. If I remember this function can be reassigned to other buttons (but not the shutter release). This is direct and (depending on which model you have) there are several useful options to fine tune focus with the lens collar.

Have you tried setting the AE/AF Lock Button mode to AF Lock Only in the menus?

I tend to focus each shot because for street work since the AF on the X100T is fast and reliable. I focus with the subject in the lens center to take advantage of the phase-detection focus points' speed and recompose. AF-S mode works well if you keep the shutter half-pressed during the recompose step.
