Zorki 1 Curtains

Hi everyone! I've doing some minor camera repairs over the last few years and they simply worked, but lately I found the beautiful Zorki cameras of yore, and bought one to research the inner parts and it's working mechanism. The curtains were really loose and cracked so I had to remove them. I bought a new pair of curtains and decided to replace them, but the condition of the camera didn't really allow me to make any position markings or at least take note of how to install the new curtains. Can you give me a hint on how to install them? I really have no clue on how to do it. I tried reading Maizenberg but I don't quite get the idea. Thanks.

Thanks, Ko.Fe. I already checked Jay's website but It doesn't provide instructions on how to replace the curtains entirely, it only says that I have to put this ones where the old ones were located. Sadly, the position of the curtains is not clear given the previous owner sort of used Sand paper or something similar on the drums. Can you tell me how you did to install them on the big drum of the closing curtain?

Thanks for all your help.

Install the curtains in position as if the shutter were wound, i.e. the second curtain, which glues to the main drum, wound onto the drum. The end strips should then end up right next to the frame gate to the side where the drum is. The overlap should be so that with a closed shutter, the second curtain end strip is towards the front of the camera.

The starting positions for the drum and pulleys and the restrictor wheel in the bottom of the shutter crate are to be set as per Maizenberg.

Hope this helps,

Derk
