Hello RFF,
I have a Zorki 1 that came "CLA'd" from the Ukraine... I have shot and developed one roll from it and looking at the contact sheet I seem to have some sort of curtain problem. It doesn't happen on every frame and seems to happen most often at 1/200 and rarely at 1/500, never at slower shutter speeds. Has anyone seen this sort of problem before? (see attached photos, sorry about the quality, I don't have a scanner)

Something makes the curtain to slow down just before it closes. It could be dirt in its path. with a soft brush with a drop of lighter fluid clean the lower and upper paths of the curtains with the shutter locked open at B. Also apply a drop of oil at the pivot points of the rollers that pull the curtains. That should fix it.

Z-1, is simple. If it was CL but not A, tension of curtains or light light baffle is too close.
Here was one UK guy in Ukraine who sells them as CLA'd, but not. And at least one Ukranian who does sell really CLA'ed and tested with film.
