The slow shutter speeds on my Zorki 4 have developed a problem. They used to work fine. Now, when I turn to the speeds 1/15 down to 1 the shutter always releases at 1/30 -- then, after it shuts, the escapement kicks in. I've had a good look at the first sticky above, and the escapement adjustment seems tricky.
Is there an easier way to get around this problem? I don't want to send the camera away for repair. If there isn't I'll just use it at 1/30 and above, which I almost always do anyway.
(No, I haven't set the shutter before advancing the film, and I haven't turned the dial between 1 and 1/30!)
Thanks for any advice.

The most obvious thing is that the little pawl that pops out and holds back the second curtain on slow speeds is failing to pop out! There could be a few reasons for that but the slow-speed mechanism needs to come out to find out what's going wrong. No easy solution if you don't want to attempt that, really

i am waiting for my first Zorki 4.
i am seriously thinking of sticking a big red warning sign on the back:
"DON'T set the shutter BEFORE advancing the film"...
