Hello, I just got my zorki 6 from a ukrainian seller on fleabay.
It came with Jupiter 8 lenses which are non standard and the seller even threw in a Industar 26M along with the set. But it seems there are a few problems with the jupiter 8, the focusing ring is very stiff, stuck with 30 year old USSR state brand grease. I am wondering if there is a way to clean and lube these beautiful lenses.
Also, I have noticed that the vertical adjust of the RF is on the front. A ring in front of it, kind of like the diopter adjustment on the later FEDs. When I set it to optimal adjustment, the "screw" portion of the RF adjust sticks out just a bit... so it seems loose!
Any suggestions?
Cosmetically and optically it's in excellent condition just as the seller described. But mechanically (with the exception of the shutter) it seems that everything's a bit stiff or loose (probably from the drying up of the ancient grease).
I have attached some pics for your viewing pleasure.
#1 indicates the problem area with the RF adjust, and #2 is the Jupiter 8. It has some kind of powerful look to it.... I love it! I just wish it would be a bit more "perfect."
(I'm considering sending it to Oleg.)
