Over the weekend I went tp load film in my Zorki 6 and somehow the rewind knob is now fully extended in the up position and I cannot get it to push down, before I had to turn it a couple times and it would slip back into place but now no amount of pressure will budge it. Anybody have this problem ? Any ideas? Thanks.

in zorkis 5 and 6 rewind knob usually get very stiff. i usually use wd40 to loosen it. just be careful not to spray with wd40 - i use a needle which i spray with wd40 and then one drop stay on needle. then you put that drop on the base of know and do it several times. you dont have to be afraid to do this , because wd40 will not go on internal parts - rewind knob is isolated enough from camera interior.

I tried that to no effect. The knob turns but will not go down, It feels like it is up against something metal. There is no play up or down. The prongs are inside the cavity.

There's a spring-detent that holds it "up" or "down" - can you get some oil on that? Or, can you unscrew the knob and get the shaft out?

OK I unscrewed the round plate under the knob. Underneath I see the diopter mechanism, if I lift that a little bit I see a green wire going to the flash sync but no spring detent.

Close examination reveals that I must take the top off to resolve this problem. I am not that confident with my eyes and fingers when it comes to springs and things flying about and tiny screws getting lost and turning the air blue with my cursing so the patient is off to Dr. Yuri's hospital at Fedka.com. Thanks for your time and suggestions everyone.
