Just bought a Zorki "C" camea. It appears to be in overall good condition with the exception a a missing film take-up spool. I may attempt to make one from a discarded cartridge spool. I would rather have the proper part. Does anyone out there have one for sale, trade or give away???

The take up spools for some of the Ru cameras are specials like a real Leitz LTM or M3/M2. Some of them are interchangable between cameras, some need file before swapping.

You can buy them e.g. on e-bay, some people preload cassettes and spools for a faster reload. There is a cottage industry making them from new e.g. CRR luton makes new leicia LTM spools, about 30£!.

The spools (some of) are held by friction rather than on forks like a cassette spool fork, but you should see this for yourself.

Sorry to be bearer of bad tidings.

hi Xmas:
I'm glad I found your post,
I, unfortunately, got a non-spool Zorki C and boought a spool, but found that the spool works by friction, the spring-based spool spindle is so hard that it's impossible to fit the spool on the spindle.
do you know how this is supposed to work?
thanks
