Is it possible to use a M mount lens with a screw mount ring attached on a Zorki, and if so are there drawbacks ?
Thanks

There is no M-Mount to LTM adapter, just the other way around.

The advantage of the M-Mount is that it can take both M-Mount and LTM lenses and focus to infinity. Screw mount cameras cannot be adapted- or a least without major machining.

On a humorous note,

Zeiss glass works great on a Zorki.

yes you do!

Jupiter's go great on Contax's... J-9 on the left, 1955 KMZ J-3 on the right.

The J-9 required some extra shimming, about 0.5mm to put it "spot on". The J-3 is shimmed in a Contax mount, used to be LTM.

A very nice set you have there. I have a Jupiter 8 that might need a little shimming to get the focusing right.

I believe paper or aluminum sheets can work as thin shims. Any suggestions for thicker shimming material? Or would that be just more paper or aluminum stacked together?

I use aluminum foil for making shims for the J-9, as I do not have spares. I use a screwdriver to trace an outline and cut.

I've also made them from junk retainging rings. Polish down with sandpaper. Ouch. Best source of mine, junk J-8's and J-3's that I've accumulated. I have my little stash of Shims.

It is a great 3M, bought here on RFF. One-Finger to wind it.

And the Zeiss glass goes great with it. You are looking at a $25 5cm f2 "T" Sonnar Ebay find, originally in Contax mount that was converted to LTM using a J-8 mount.

Instructions for converting an F1.5 lens to LTM are Here:

Same technique for the F2 lens, except use a J-8 mount.

One shot with the lens, wide-open.

It is very close to the Nikkor 5cm F2.
