Zuiko Silvernose 50 f/1.4 Vs "Made in Japan" 50 f/1.8 Vs Canon EF 50 f/1.8

That MiJ is sharp!
Mine inhabits my OM1 in daily use and the EPL2 adapted as a tele. The kit lens for the latter broke and nowadays I just use it very sparingly with the 100mm effective focal.

Worlds of difference compared to the kit zoom; sharp sharp sharp. In the latter days the zoom gave me errors and didn't seem to focus properly until it bit the dust.
Sadly the EPL2 has no focus peaking and MF is a bit cumbersome for me.

Very interesting - I've actually read a lot on your website and like it a lot. Shame it encourages me to buy more cameras though!

Great blog report. Thanks. I always liked the 'glow' of the silvernose 50mm Zuiko and never found it 'soft'. Or, at least, never found its image rendition a problem.

For what it's worth, a while ago I played around with two Zuiko 50mm ƒ1.4 variations on a Sony A7.

I also tried to see if there was a difference between the lenses when used with film, as opposed to digital.

As I've said, these are far from scientific tests, but perhaps interesting nonetheless?
