My new lens came in today and I plan to use it on my CL. I've read a lot about focusing wide open with the CL and wonder, will I have an accuracy problem with the CL and the Nokton?

Thanks Frank, that's good news because I don't plan on using it close, just street stuff. Do you have any shots with the lens posted around? I can't wait to get out later and shoot mine.

Try it out. It's got a bit of a reputation on the M8, but from what I understand, the film cameras have no problems.

Mine back-focused on my M8 until some gift-tape on the cam ring fixed it right up (on a confirmed "well focusing" camera)

It's a favorite, and both sharp like a razor, and with a wonderful look to it.

Not trying to take this over, but what problems with the M8. I haven't had any problems with it so far(3 weeks).

On my M3, and M4-P, it is my favorite lens. It is the focal length I like best, as I don't care for the 35mm or the 50mm. Very sharp even wide open, really great at f/2-5.6, but I didn't buy it for those, I got it to shoot wide open. If I want to shoot a 40mm stopped down, I use my Summicron-C 40mm.

It is currently my only lens and it is a beaut on my M8 here is a sample from today:

I remember that Joe/backAlley used that combo once.

The 40 Nokton is a really great lens. BTW, the CL focuses down
to .8m while the Nokton can go down to .7m.

Roland.

Thanks everyone for the replies and what a wonderful sharp shot. I'm working on my first roll now, I had 4 rolls of that Kodak 400UC. Never used it before as I always use Fuji but I thought I would try it out.

Tomorrow afternoon after I get my work photos shot done I am going over to Moscow, Id. to get some college street shots.
