50/1.5 Aspherical Nokton on the M8?

How's the 50/1.5 Aspherical Nokton on the M8? Sean's review looks good and I'm want a 50 to shoot until I get my old LTM 50/2.0 'Cron back from Sherry with the IIIG.

Also do I really need to worry about coding on 50's and over if I'm using a cut filter?

The link is to a set of images I took with the 50 Nokton on the M8 - these were taken without an IR cut filter.

You don't need to code 50mm lenses IMO and experience.

It's a wonderful lens on the M8. I usually hate 50s, but this one is a great performer. Wonderful contrast, sharpness, and bokeh.

Carl,

some 40 and 50 Noktons do start to wobble after a while. Some 35
Ultrons, too. Fixable, though, with screw driver and nail polish. See here,

Other negatives:

- the lens is too big for an effective 50/1.6;
- min. focus is too long.

An older Canon 50/1.4 has similar signature, is better built and half stop faster and half the size.

Bought it for the F1.5 on my M8 and haven't regretted it.

Yes, but the new Sonnar is EVEN NICER. I have both, and an M8.

Every Voigtlander lens I own seems to be of fantastic build quality. I am sorry the samples may vary, but I have had great luck!
