Noctilux for $1748.95?

Yeah, I thought it must be something like that. But I'm wondering: how can they even get away with stuff like that? Isn't it easy to trace the transfer and prove that no shipment was made? I don't understand that....

An idle search for a Nikon D700 revealed three different merchants who were rotten to the core, yet their offers showed up in fairly mainstream shopping engines online. One visit to resellerratings.com solved the mystery.

Again, if it is too good to be true... it's a scam.

Ok, I hear you. But again: how would it even be possible to rip someone off like this? Can't be that hard to trace the money and take these people, or do I just have too much faith in the system?

I've been to the "Cambridge" store in Manhattan several times. It's an old, dusty place, with mostly old stock. On two occasions, i called them specifically about a piece of gear they listed somewhere. I told them i would be in the store to pick it up at that price. Twice, when i arrived, they said the item was not in the store, but was in the warehouse and would be retrieved from there. Each time, they actually could not produce the item, and i left having wasted a significant amount of time.

Now, if i find their name associated with anything i've searched for online, i immediately dismiss it. The prices they list are pure fiction.

I ordered something years ago. Told it was in stock. After 3 weeks I was told they were waiting for it. I cancelled and they wanted to charge me a restocking fee.
