Back from Turkey

Hi,
I recently got back from Turkey where I spent my holidays travelling along the western cost and the inside countryside.
All I can say is that it's a wonderful land, rich of history, nature and humanity. A different complex society with strong links to the mediterranean culture. A country and a people I've been really fascinated by. I'll post some pictures here in the gallrey and far more on my blog (http://fotonico237.blogspot.com), I hope they will be able to tell how much I enjoyed the places I visited and the people I met there.
On the gear side I took all the photos with my Bessa R, L, Nokton 50, Skopar 21 and (a very few with) Orion 15. I used Ilford Fp4, Delta and Fuji Neo 1600.

Krosya, I'll post some more day by day up to the spare time I can spend scanning and and editing (that's really boring!) the photos I shot.
John, hope you enjoyed Turkey as I did. I forget to mention the very good and tasty meals I always had during the vacation!

thank you for such nice words. I'm so glad you find the photos respectful of the land and the people because I always wonder if may lack of respect to the subject I'm photographing. I like "stealthy" street shooting but I have my most satisfying (I mean for me) results when I have the possibility to talk with the people, to listen their story or answer their questions. That's help people to understand my interest and respect for them and why I want to take a photo. That it's what I always try to do when I photograph but then it also happens, sometimes, to make mistakes.

I agree with Rubin that you have brought us Turkey. This country is on my visiting radar for quite some time. Their dishes are awesome. Eat Kabab with side dishes, followed by strong hot tea and then some sweets. Now this is LIFE!

thanks, after spending a two weeks vacation travelling along the mediterranean cost and the inside countryside (mainly the Cappadocia region) I'd say that Turkey well deserve - at least - 2 visits, one for the southern and western and one for the northern and eastern regions such it's rich of places to visit. About food your description of a typical meal is perfect, good goat meat (or some fish if on the cost), fresh vegetables, a sweet baclavah or fresh fruit and 2 cup of tchai (their tea) it's really good life!!

Taking Turkish Airlines is inexpensive, and it allows you to have a stop at Instanbul [for several days] before continuing to other countries in the Middle East. I have noticed that tours from Germany to Turkey are very inexpensive. It may be worthwhilwe to fly to Germany and to get the tour package from there.

I was in Turkey (Istanbul) for a couple days last week and had a wonderful time. The people were friendly, the food great and the Grand Bazaar overwhelming.
I would go back in a heartbeat.

you're right, in fact that's about what we did flying with Lufthansa from Florence to Munich and then to Istambul. Once there we rent a car and drove south. In the end I can say it has been expensive (even because we shared the car costs with another couple of friends) nor for the flight, nor for the car. Driving it's a bit crazy in the cities but it's quite relaxing otherwise.
