I was wondering why this (the auction site 310084141746) lens is not selling?
OK the price is steep, but the lens is also very rare. is it a fake Herar?

hard to say if this Herar lens is legitimate or not, without an evaulation by Zeiss lens experts, especially considering the serious money that the sellers are asking. The serial number matches the CZJ production numbers outlined in the Thiele book. Thiele states that the lens was produced for the Contax mount, but also uses the term "Beleg fehit" under the "Sonstiges" heading, but I have no idea what this means (I am German-challenged). I think that Sonstiges means "other" in English.
Looks like pics of lenses depicted in various books on Contax lenses, but given the rarity if this lens, authentication by experts would be advisable. Tthe ZICG would be a good place to start.

Hi,
I am certainly in no position to buy, but just wondering when a rare lens surfaces and does not draw ovbious interest. There must be a few well off collectors for whom the price is not a turn off.
BTW"beleg fehlt" means somewhat that there is/are no proof/records available, probably due to the absence of Zeiss company records.
