The back story: While waiting for my wife to emerge from a store on normally-quiet downtown Main Street in small-town Madison, NJ yesterday, I came upon the following scenes. A man allegedly started a fire or set off an explosion in the basement of a financial brokerage office. In one of the shots you can see the alleged perpetrator with a wide-eyed, crazed smile sitting cuffed in the back of a squad car after having put up a vigorous fight with th officers trying to coral him. In another shot, you can see the shoes he seems he seems to have left in the middle of the street while trying to flee the scene. No idea to whom the second pair of abandoned shoes might belong.
