When I used to have it, it was a Rollei 35 for the where-ever-the-heck-i-am-it's-in-my-man-purse kind of day....

Leica M4-P and 28mm Ultron. I use my Crumpler 5M Home as my work bag, camera in one half lunch and glasses in the other. I often wander around the city after work during the week, my fiance finishes work 1-2 hours after I do so I've been using the time to shoot 🙂

For just cruising around I'll usually take a Panasonic G1/GF1, Leica D-lux 3 or Ricoh GRD II. I tend to take digital most often for the ISO flexibility. The Sigma DP1 and Leica CM make occassional bum around appearances as well.

I always carry at least one P&S film camera with me. Either a Contax T3 or Ricoh GR1v, with B&W film.

When I'm carrying a film camera, it is usually a smaller one so I guess that makes me a Fondler. 🙄 My larger Rangefinders and SLRs see more action on self-assignments than for day to day.
I like to have my XA or Stylus Epic in my work bag. If I am going out in the evening, I grab either my Hi-Matic F or 7s II with an Auto Electroflash, or one of my earlier P+S cameras; maybe the Minolta AF-C or Nikon L35AF (great with B/W). However, right now I am having a getting acquainted period with my G11.

I'm not a fondler, but I am certainly a misguided klutz. I carry my good stuff (actually, it's the only stuff I have left) everywhere I go (sometimes to the consternation of my wife). No sense in owning it, to my mind, if you're not going to use it.
The problem is not what I carry, but that I need a mnemonic device to keep me from winding my M2 to the next frame before putting it back in my bag. I seem to get a blank frame for every exposed one from tripping the shutter either on the way into the bag or on the way out. I have been spoiled by the shutter lock on/off switch from my M8. A softie on the M2 has only made this worse. It is so automatic to wind to the next frame that I can't seem to help myself. Do I need to tape a big note on the back warning me "DON'T WIND, DUMMY!"??? Maybe the solution is to go without a bag???

Granted, working in a big city that operates like a suburbia is not very conducive to street stuff, but hey... gotta take what you can get.
My best/most expensive gears are just for display 🙄

oh, the choice of the mamiya 6...once upon a time a nikon f2 w/md2 & mb1 and a 180mm f2.8 was my daily camera.
i've just become too fond of that "medium format" look...

It is interesting to read what a lot of you guys have said, but I think something is missing here in this thread...a lot of us have different "lifestyles" and how we commute to work and what we can and want to carry with us.....I know that for many years, all I owned was a Rollei 35 and that was my take everywhere camera.....then I bought a Hasselblad, and that thing went with me everyday when I was in university, and I also had the privleage to live in Italy for a year and I took my Hasselblad with me everyday that I left the house....from there, it went with me to India as my only camera.......
Ever since I bought a Leica (about 9 or 10 years ago), it has been my everyday camera....I sometimes take my Hasselblad out around Bangkok, but my Leica is the one that is always with me.....I don't know about you guys, but I like focusing a camera and even though point and shoots are more compact, I can't see myself carrying one...yes, I know, some point and shoots you can focus.....
I guess my point is, I think it depends on our "lifestyles", commute and how much stuff we want to carry around everyday......I know everybody is different and not everybody looks "professional" walking into their office with a camera strung around their shoulder....
I remember when I lived in San Francisco/Berkeley, a lot of people assumed I was a tourist because I always had a camera on me....these days it is different, because I live in Bangkok and no matter what I carry with me, I am never going to look like a local....
one more thing, with the exception of a Hasselblad, how big is the difference between a Leica and Rollei 35.......is the difference that much?....maybe yes, maybe no...like I said, everybody is different and everybody's situation is going to be dfferent according to their lifestyle.....

I belong in "group A", I carry a camera with me most of the time, a ZI with 400 colour film in the day, and a M with 1600 b&w at night. My daily commute is just a 15 minute walk to my University, where I do take quite a few photos, but they're rarely any good. With just 12 contact hours a week though (and being a lazy student), I have a lot of time to go elsewhere, mainly food hunting. I wonder how this would change when I join the workforce...

It is nicer than I thought it would be.
Everything auto, but it has a good rangefinder. The sonnar lens has an interesting characteristic. It looks similar to that on the original Rollei 35S. But this camera is way easier (thus fun) to use.
I have a roll in it that I need to finish, I'll post some if anything good came out.

Nothing whatsoever when you are young with good eyesight, same as Minox35, I found after50 that the figures on the dials were difficult to read.
I particularly liked my Rollei B35, the Triotar seemed every bit as sharp as the Tessar.

I've owned a couple of Rollei 35's, and they are nice cameras. But I just don't like guess focus cameras.

I used a Rollei 35 for a couple of years...it was the only camera that I owned at that time....I actually got published for my first time with that camera (magazines in Brazil, America and Germany)...I took that camera to Europe with me for one year....sadly, I haven't used it for about 10 or 11 years...it is sitting in my parents house somewhere.....I will say this....it taught me a lot about photography......
