California (Bay Area, Northern) San Francisco Holiday Photo Shoot?

I'd like to try and make at least part of it if on the 20th, and meet some of you folk whose inputs on the site have been so helpful. Have an obligation early afternoon, but if any of this happens during morning light...

Haha hey guys! Yeah I am quietly (or not so quietly) infiltrating your adorable little rangefinder group! Ya I will plan on coming on the 20th so we can dork out, but I might just bring medium format and not a rangefinder if you guys are cool with that.

I'm mighty tempted to join in on the fun on the 20th if I can get away from this increasing pile of work (I know, I shouldn't be complaining given the state the economy and all). Do have another commitment that evening so would have to duck out a bit early, however.

I actually might be able to get in on some of this as well (after all), but I will probably have to cut out early too. I've seen the Provoke Era show.

It's about time, given she's a founder of a flickr group which all of us red dot users should belong to.

Yes, when Reese says MF it's not medium format. It's Red Dot MF. :D We'll have to get her hooked on RFs.

Yup, and we've run into each other twice, last time at Burgermeister...

I was wondering if that was you. You never quite know who anyone is here in the real world until you actually bump into them.
:)
We'll probably run in to each other again sometime too...

Bring a medium format rangefinder and I'll bring mine.

OK Gang... it looks like this will be the routine if it works for everyone:

Sunday the 20th.
11AM- Meet at SF MOMA Cafe and have a little "Gear & Lunch" get together.
12PM- Head into the museum and take in the exhibits.
1:30 or 2PM- Begin the street photo assault with our wacky gear.
4 or so- Meet back up for a few beers.

For those that need to cut out early this will allow them to still hang out a bit and then shoot.

Let me know if this works for everyone. I look forward to a fun afternoon...HoHoHo :)

The 20th could work for me, too. We'll be hosting a friend from Japan and a trip to SF is in the works during her short visit. She might like to see the Japanese Post War show at SFMOMA. So I will keep an eye on this thread and see if it happens. I wish all of you a healthy (sniff) holiday (wheeze) season.

works for me (rain or shine) -- looking forward to seeing everyone (old faces and new)!

PS Kent -- my GF1 is finally here -- i'm thoroughly won over (honeymoon phase in full swing)

Will see you all on 20th. I've been to Beer and Gear only once and met Randy personally once (hope to see you again this time), and friends with Reese in person. I might bring a film shooter friend (Reese: Charlie) with me.

Kevin- The darn things are pretty addicting. I just got adapters for Nikon F, Contax C/Y and Contax G mounts, too fun. I am fired up to see how the G glass does on a modern digital camera.

Enjoy your new toy!

I'll be coming from San Ho. South Bay represent!

Can anyone get me into SF MoMA on their member's pass, pretty please?
