I have ordered a M9 and waiting it to come. I personally own a MP and a Summicron 35 8 elements, and think I will keep this lovely lens for long.
However, after I went to try the M9 out in the local showroom, I discover that the top of photos always have magenta cast even I turned on the lens detection (35/2). I also tried it with my Summicron 50 DR and my friend's Summarit 5cm, and got the same result.
I thought it was the white balance problem and could be fixed in PP. But it still appears in photos. Are these lenses just too old and not support by the lens detection manaul? Or the demo unit problem?
By Summicron 35, Converted by Lightroom. Adjusted white balance only.

I like this 8 elements and my copy is Exc+++ with perfect glass and never opened for service, so I really don't want to part with it.
Anyone has the same combo and help? Thanks!

If it's happening with three different lenses it's probably the camera.

You managed to mount a 50mm summicron DR on an M9? I thought that wasn't possible

Yes, it could, but will not move exceed 4m. So it can only be used from 0.9m to 4m.
I will take my noctilux to try out tomorrow. Iused to try noctilux in 2 different m9 and had no problem, will update you guys tomorrow.

With the Summicron, you generally don't want more than 6 elements.

I don't get it? Any relation to the problem?
