Paul that's great news! As for the late start don't feel bad, I've been carrying my Fed 2 for a couple of days now & I haven't shot a single thing that would qualify for the contest! Be sure you post another photo of it when it arrives. Everyones camers look great! Can't wait for the gallery to start filling up!
 
Here is my replacement shooter that came today from fedka, with a black Industar-50. This is a FED-2(d) with Russian/English engraving. Body looks brand new, and the lens almost so.

Already loaded with xp2, and couple of shots fired. This "test" roll will be used for contest images. Don't have time to mess around ...
 
Mine is an export model, I think, because of the English and the standard tripod socket thread. Right?
Makes no nevermind to me as long as it works ...
 
Very nice Paul! I really like the industar 50. I think it's very under rated! I took a couple of portraits with it & was quite suprised! I too have xp2 in my FED. I'm awful for waiting til the last minute. Got to get busy!:)
 
I have no plan as my 'Great Plan' to buy a FSU for this contest has been thwarted by other people who keep buying MY camera at prices i can't afford :) Bloody online auctions will be the death of me.

I will keep on trying until the last moment to get a photo in the contest

I feel bad for you! I'm hoping a deal will fall your way! What are you shooting with at the moment?
 
No shortage of non-FSU cameras in this house but i think there is no way i can pretend my Nikon F80 was made in the USSR or even my rattiest Yashica Electro. Maybe i could pretend my XA is a KGB spy camera ...
There is an auction closing tonight for a Fed 3 so all digits crossed :)

Off course there is that NZ$200.00 fed 5 on the local site:D

Fed 4 is also overlooked, paid 10 pounds for one out of UK, light meter still working and everthing OK , worth consideration?

The FED 100mm viewfinders are hard to come by, so this is the closest I could come up with. The looks of it come pretty close too, BTW.

$120.00 for a Fed 5:eek: Good night! I don't know what your currency is compared to ours but I bought a new in box Fed 5 for $10.00. Bought it mainly for the I 61/2.8 lens. I have no idea what you are willing to pay for a camera, but I saw this one on your site

It's a trick to load because it's a bottom loader but it's not hard. There's instructions on Jay's Fed & Zorki Survival site. Follow Jay's instructions & no problem! I'd jump on this camera if I was you! It's smaller in base length than a fed 2 & with that collaspable I-22 will fit in your back pocket! Bidding ends on the 16 so if you win it you still have time! Of course I'm assuming the camera works properly! Hope it works out for you. To everyone else in NZ leave this camera alone!!:D
 
Brian, i have got stuff from txfct or whatever his name is before, seems ok, but no communication and very slow to post, in fact maybe i am the reason he has`nt got 100% good feedback [ not that feedback is worth didley].

Also, i believe that there are perhaps 4 regular sellors on trademe that buy frome-bay and on sell here. Factor in the postage and you can work out the price they are paying from e-bay.
Remember the `red dot zorki'? hahahaha.

Thanks for the kind words guys and no i was not going to pay $120 for a FED5 .. the Zorki 1c looks nice but we will have to see if i can win it first and if it needs a visit to Oleg before it's usable :) I like the older cameras so the Zorki would be nice, with no buy now i will need a bit of luck.
I think txfct sells on behalf of some charity as he has lots of camera gear but no batteries to test anything :) oh darn!
As for borrowing a camera I don't even know anyone else who still shoots film let alone a FSU I seem to be the only fool in the village still doing that :bang:
