I know there was a thread on 1+100 in Rodinal a month or so ago. A Flickr contact who happens to live a few counties from me has been doing stand development with Rodinal 1+200. His progress is amazing! You can really stretch this stuff out & get very good results! I don't wish to copy his photos, so here is a link to his flickr. You can immediately see some of his 1+200 developing technique as well as 1+100 stand developing!

My question is ..... I did not see a clear statement of development times. I do stand development on different developers, and normally 53-55 min. Is about average. I would think that 1-200 we require really long development times. Nice results.

Page 3 is about where he started with his 1+200 stand development with rodinal. Check out the one shot where he used a 1+300 dilution of rodinal! Amazing stuff but I think that's pushing the limit. But if anyone will get the technique down Holden will. BTW holden just started doing his own developing a few years ago!

you need about 3ml per 35mm roll. Not sure about 120. 1:100 or 1:200 will depend on your tank and not create much difference. When it's gone, it's gone. Not much happens after 30'.

My 2 cents.

I don't know his times either, but seems he posted it in one of his photos. I'm thinking 2 hrs? can't remember. I'll see if I can find it!....edit, check the discussions out!

That sounds like HC110. Don't know about rodinal. Here is the link to his experimental 1+300 (1.6ml to 500ml) stand dev. Perhaps you don't need this much time. 3 hrs? Has anyone here tried 30 minuet stand development? Why 1 hr for 1+100? I don't think I have heard an explanation why!

Just a few days ago I souped 5 rolls of FP4+ in Rodinal about 1:75 for 30minutes, with 1 minute of initial agitation, then 10 sec of agitation at about 20 minute mark. They came out great.

I do use 1:200 Rodinal with films like tech Pan and Fuji Minicopy II. Usua;;y 120 min stand development. I suspect that the trick is to leave it in the "soup" for long enough to ensure that it is exhausted - if that takes 90-100 min - the next 20 or so minutes will not make a difference. I have tried it with APX 25, rated at 80 - also @ 120 min/1:200. OK. but a bit thinner than I like.
I used to do Tech Pan/ SO 115 120, rated at 8 asa and in Rodinal 1:200 for 120-150 min, just a quick flip of the tank mid-way (60-75 min). Very high resolution, decent - but by no means perfect grey scale (blocked low values) - but as it was done for aerial stuff - detail was critical.
Could be interesting with some of the new, thin emulsion films (Maco/Efke etc).

Sorry, I'm stepping aside...but this thread again is temptation. Is LC29 appropriate for stand development? I normally use Neopan/Legacy and APX films, ISO 400 and sometimes ISO 100.

Well, I can just try myself and see results, just in case anyone is already doing this?
