My Fed 5B :D

My FED2d has some new accessories: an RFF soft-release button, and a vented hood made in a certain people's republic. Fits, doesn't it?

That beautiful chrome reflects the green from the leaves of the sweetgum and water oak standing nearby:

Pics made on a Fuji Finepix J10 p&s; I can't hold it still for nothing ...

Nothing fancy, a zorki 4 with FED industar 52/2.8, but it is in a very good shape, looks like new.
We don't do "fancy" too much here in the FSU section - plain is fine and if it gets the results, what does it matter? It's all about having fun and taking good shots. The Industar 61 is a fine lens, by the way and the Zorki 4 is a perfectly capable body.

I guess fancy is more for those snobby Leica users... :)

To be honest, I don't use the zorki a lot. I took some nice pictures with it using xp2 film, and the lens showed some vignetting which was very nice. Nowadays I use mostly my M6...

My FED 3 with the cheapist lenshood I could find. Also, I have a tallent for getting thumb prints on the view finder window.

The pictures in theis thread are great. I've only very recently been bitten by the Russian rangefinder bug and am awaiting delivery of a Kiev 4 type 2 which should be here any day now.

I am soooo curious :)

Nice Fed! Please tell me about the filter thats on the lens. I have several Fed's, and only one yellow filter...

With kind regards,

Valkir

Here is a fresh shot of my FED-2d with bottom half of case and Op/Tech strap, loaded with Arista Premium 400; Industar-61 aboard:

The Soviets needed to make a panoramic camera for two reasons:

#1. The country was so bloody big they couldn't fit the landscape onto a normal frame.

and ...

#2. All the better to watch your population with and ensure they were being good Soviet citizens.

:)

Thanks folks!

Pbhome, yes, some:

More in my Flickr stream, tagged "horizont".

The camera is a beater, got it without finder or any accessories, and as you see one strap lug is missing. Still takes pictures though, and I did it a CLA last weekend. Gonna load it with last roll of Kodachrome 25 and shoot some mountain scenery around here in Bergen.

I expected the level to intrude into the frame on film, but was surprised when it didn't. need to do some more tests though.
