T he N8 has a very capable camera, the 'phone is a bit of a donkey on account of the buggy software but the hardware is of excellent quality,a metal bodied, nicely engineered handset ,made in Finland. The lens is marked "Carl Zeiss,Tessar,2.8/28,12 mp,AF" and is a decent lens, sharp with the nice Zeiss blues. The onboard flash is a proper strobe and doesn't fire at the drop of a hat like most Auto digicams.I always have the N8 with me when I'm out, just to ease my guilt for ignoring my EP1 & my "new" (ancient) Contax II. These 'phones have been replaced by a newer model with an 8mp cam and if you can find one at a discount I'd recommend it as an excellent pocket cam that is very capable although not for pixel peepers. The only thing I'd hold against it is it's touch screen for some functions and you have to watch how you hold the camera when you're framing a shot as you might activate the movie function or get the onscreen menu but like any new camera it takes a little while to find your way around.Nice and skinny and will slip into the top pocket of a suit or the pocket in a Levi jacket..also makes 'phone calls🙂
