Patrick, welcome! I've had a lot of bad experiences with KEH BGN grade anything which is well documented on FM, but after over a year hiatus I ordered a BGN 90/2.8 Tele-Elmarit-M which was dirt cheap and in spectacular shape. Exactly what I would consider BGN grade.

Congrats - post some pictures. As to the pad on the Leica strap - no I don't think it can be removed, at least the ones I have can't. I use the Domke gripper straps for my M's
You can carefully slit the rubber pad on the Leica straps with a hobby knife or single-edged razor blade, and then peel the pieces of rubber off. The result is the best camera strap available at any price.

Congrats on your new M6. That is a great looking camera and definitely does not fit the description of a "BGN" camera!

I also recomend the top bartender's products. The voigtlander strap is excelent and very gentle on the camera surface when it comes in contact with it.

I ended up grabbing a Leica strap from KEH and it came this afternoon...looks like a great strap! Pretty much exactly what I wanted...light, flexible. Undecided on the shoulder pad, but it seems as if I can just cut it off

Congrats on the acquisition, KEH's BGN is usually pretty good, but I've once bought an EX lens and it had a dampened focus ring, had to send it back.
Btw you were really lucky, the Nokton 40mm was in the cart and I was confirmind a friend's zip code, when I checked out, it was gone

Ha! That's funny...my apologies
When I called to place the order they did mention that I just snagged it from someone else...

How are the framelines like with a 40mm? I suppose you use the 35mm lines (if there are 35mm lines. Bessa user, so not familiar with the M6) and guesstimate a bit less?

The 40 originally brings up the 50 frame lines but I did the modification to have it bring up the 35mm lines. At nearer distances you have to guess a little but at anything farther away, I think the 35mm lines fit it well.
