Hi everybody,
I just got my photos back from the lab, these are all shots from my trip to Charleston, SC.
I went there with,
my M6,
Zeiss 50 sonnar
and a Voigtlander 15.
I shot two rolls of film, one roll of KOdak Ektar and a roll of Ilford FP4.
First I will start with the BW shots, I shot this roll first so these are from the first day or two of my trip:
The Adventure Begins... (Zeiss 50 Sonnar)
Charleston BW 6 by KyleR., on Flickr
Alleys... (Voigt 15)
Charleston BW 17 by KyleR., on Flickr
I liked the stark contrast of colors in this one, I think the BW helped with this image. (Voigt 15)
Charleston BW 20 by KyleR., on Flickr
Umbrella, (I actually like how this shot turned out a little soft) (Zeiss 50)
Charleston BW 26 by KyleR., on Flickr
Part Two, shot in color on Ektar film.
We took a trip to the beach. (Voigt 15)
Charleston Color 3 by KyleR., on Flickr
The Lone Soldier (Voigt 15)
Charleston Color 8 by KyleR., on Flickr
Chasing Birds... (voigt 15)
Charleston Color 10 by KyleR., on Flickr
The Endless Scope of the Beach (Voigt 15)
Charleston Color 11 by KyleR., on Flickr
Windy Day (Voigt 15)
Charleston Color 19 by KyleR., on Flickr
Walking the Dog
Charleston Color 20 by KyleR., on Flickr
More Birds !
Charleston Color 21 by KyleR., on Flickr
Cars.
Charleston Color 25 by KyleR., on Flickr
Next stop, Krispy Kreme to get a donut fresh off the machine! (Zeiss 50)
Charleston Color 26 by KyleR., on Flickr
Charleston Color 27 by KyleR., on Flickr
To finish it off, an Abstract shot through the shower door. (Zeiss 50)

Charleston is one of my favorite American cities. Your photos remind me very much of the area. Nice!

I found FP4 a bit low-contrast when I tried it, although no doubt this would improve with a different developer.
Try a roll of Kodak Tri-X (now confusingly labelled 400 TX with "Tri-X" in very small lettering). Forget that it's 400 ASA; it's brilliant for portraits and, in fact, most subjects except maybe detailed landscapes. It's never ceased to amaze me with its versatility and ideal balance of grain and contrast.

The first shot is an excellent example of the Zeiss Sonnar "old fashioned" look. At first glance it appears that it could have been taken years ago.

Thanks everybody,
I am glad you like them!
kshapero - I appreciate your kind words.
David Manning - Yes, I am enjoying shooting film. I plan on doing a comparison with the lab scans to my epson v700 sometime later this month.
RanceEric - I'm glad you like that one! It came out exactly as I envisioned it when I was taking the shot.
filmfan - It was my first visit to Charleston and I love that place! Everybody is so nice there. Thanks.
rogerzilla - I have tried Tri-x before, but I will definitely give it another shot.
Steve Bellayr - Thank you. I agree, it takes me back in time...
porktaco - Thanks, the zeiss has a nice rendering wide open. I recommend a ND filter for it though, it allowed me to use a wide aperture in daylight during this trip.
Thanks guys,
Kyle

I really like that falling-into-a-stargate-wormhole feeling that your second image induces. That's a nice shot.
