They seem to have good ratings on ebay, but still thought i'd check. they are based in hong kong, and i've never heard of them until now.

Yes I bought a 90 elmarit R from them - a tad on the expensive side but other than that a good transaction all round

right now, they have exactly what i'm after - the summicron 50mm f/2... tabbed version. but only problem, is that its going for $1650. I just think that's way too much.

but i can't seem to find the lens anywhere else! i'm in USA florida right now, so would the shipping from hong kong cost me a lot? and what about customs? did you have to pay customs at all? i figured its a used item, so there shouldn't be any customs fee...but then again, i'm not sure, since i've never ordered anything from an international store..

They have a retail store in Guangzhou China and in Hong Kong. The owner is actually based on China. SK_photo used to be and could still be his partner. Most of his inventory comes from Japan that is why he has lots of items. And yes, he is expensive for he is not shy to explore new heights.

Breguet shipped my camera from Tokyo a week ago and I received it today. Bronica RF645 just as shown and described. They paid the shipping on my purchase, and sent EMS with tracking all the way. I am happy with my purchase! regards ---john.

Hong Kong Post is quite fast. Same time as a UPS or Fed-X ground package from NYC to FL. And the cost is quite low. I have never paid any customs duties on lenses, new or used, from Hong Kong.

Sorry I have no experience with your particular seller.

I think I bought something small from them some time ago and they were fine. I now have them stored as a favorite seller.

I generally prefer dealing with Hong Kong dealers whenever I can do so. Generally they are reliable.

And frankly when I look in eBay for equipment, often the US sellers will only deliver to the US (for whatever reason) and if they will sell to other countries they tend to want to charge ludicrous handling and postage fees, whereas for small items HK sellers will often deliver totally free of charge.

I will ante up $40-$50 or more for a camera body or lens to be posted to Australia (although not gladly so as its still quite steep) but I am damned if I will pay the same delivery fee for a $15 filter or something equally small which is often sent in nothing more elaborate than an ordinary envelope and maybe a $5 or $10 airmail stamp.

Sorry thats off the topic. opps

You bought a Bronica RF645?

Them things are not cheap, not even here in Tokyo. I wanted to get one, but then when I began to find them, I just about had a coronary. So I think I am stuck with my Fuji 645's.

I'm an expat NY'er living in HK. Breguet is based in Guangzhou, but has a small store in HK which I've visited. Their product descriptions are accurate, but as stated above, prices tend to be on the high side for second hand Leica.

I have also sold a few items to them, and they paid my asking prices without bargaining. I have yet to buy anything from them, I usually find what I need here in Japan.

No customs on optics into USA

No customs on optics into USA

I have been told that optical equipment (and it appears cameras fall in this category) incur no customs fees coming into the US. This is supposed to be verifiable through the US Postal service.

Has anyone on RFF ever paid customs on a camera shipped internationally into the US?

I have purchased from them in the past. As everyone has mentioned - the prices are high. The product description are accurate and service was VERY good. Item was posted on the day I paid.

They bought numerous high end, extremely rare items from me. They paid the eBay "buy it now" price without bickering.

Later on, I made many off-eBay deals with him. Payment and a few trades went off without any problems.

They know what they are talking about and they seem 100% honest.

i got an almost new rd-1 from them. great shape. not the cheapest but i got what i paid for, and on time. recommended, but use with eyes open.

Good guys, I have met them and dealt with them in the past, they will never mess you around.
It is true that they get most of their stock from Japan, they often beat me to it:eek:
Thanks

I used to walk into their Guangzhou store and bought a Voigtlander LTM adapter..

Well, couldn't really go wrong with that one.

I have shipped to "International" countres outside the USA, and, for a Medium Priority flat rate box is about $45.00 with insurance for around $600.00. USPS is the cheapest mail rate compared to FEDX, UPS. For international shipping.

USA postal rates, are the highest the world Afaik for international shipping.
That is why many USA sellers won't ship items under a couple hundred dollars International
.

OT
I have not bought from them, but, I have had good success with many HK and Japan sellers to the USA.
