I voted for the sharper lens. I'm aware most people here don't make images for pixel or grain peeping. But still... These questions are still up.

Which lens is sharper then the previous sharpest one and compared to X, but not comparing with the corners of lens Y, because set on aperture Z it will be a lot sharper than X...

Well, you see my opinion, I suppose... ;)

"Why didn't Cosina/Zeiss/Fuji/Sony/Sigma make a digital rangefinder with M-mount and fullframe X3 sensor that is under $2,000 of which I will definitely buy one?"

Other oft asked questions: should I use a filter on my lens? Does using a lens shade matter? Then, 4-5 pages of posters will respond to these important questions.

I haven't heard from (repair person's name) in 24 hours... does anyone have their home phone number/address/private email/next of kin?

I may be guilty of this one myself to some extent...

As the started of a recent 50mm CV lens thread, I am guilty.

But mostly, I am in secret concerned with whether black collapsible lenses make me look fat when paired with a Cameraleather.com kidskin recovering.

Dear Gabriel,

Meh got my vote. And for a reason.

People asking unresearched questions is inherent to all forae. As it should be.

When I came out here I asked the unreseached questions, and I was politely answered by many (thanks for that).

When I became (slightly) more knowledgeable, I returned the favor.

Nowadays, I make way for those that are returning the favor in present time and only answer unresearched questions when I feel like it (which still is quite often).

It's not the question asked, it's how you respond to it that makes the difference.

At least people here can ask those questions without being ridiculed or chewed up! There's a lot of forae where every other post is judgemental, never understood why that would seem necessary to the poster.

Those are very good points. I know some people are seeing in a waved hand only the middle finger, but that's not the intent: every forum gets the recycled nonpreviously-researched question.

There is a point, however, when some questions are so over-done that it points to a symptom: inability to get to the information a priori.

There are many variables involved, and one of them is the Search function. It is predominant on RFF's header, yet it is one of the least used. We all know RFF has a huge server load (not to mention some well-deserved crankiness), and in order to optimize or alleviate resources, some things are sacrificed.

There are options, like using Google to search RFF alone, but most people aren't that knowledgeable (double-whammy).

Also, there will always be someone who finds something hitting at a personal level and responds in like.

The intertoobes make lots of things get lost in translation. Jest is on top of that list. And a bit of irony on being "chewed up" about it.
