Snorting silver salts
Those are very good points. I know some people are seeing in a waved hand only the middle finger, but that's not the intent: every forum gets the recycled nonpreviously-researched question.
There is a point, however, when some questions are so over-done that it points to a symptom: inability to get to the information a priori.
There are many variables involved, and one of them is the Search function. It is predominant on RFF's header, yet it is one of the least used. We all know RFF has a huge server load (not to mention some well-deserved crankiness), and in order to optimize or alleviate resources, some things are sacrificed.
There are options, like using Google to search RFF alone, but most people aren't that knowledgeable (double-whammy).
Also, there will always be someone who finds something hitting at a personal level and responds in like.
The intertoobes make lots of things get lost in translation. Jest is on top of that list. And a bit of irony on being "chewed up" about it.
True, Gabriel. Every word.
To highlight the highlighted issue, here's the correct command for Google, everybody:
'site:www.rangefinderforum.com non-researched question'
will get you all threads on RFF that contain the words 'non-researched question'
Leave off the quotation marks and substitute the search term with whatever you're looking for: tadaa!
😀
It would be nice if the search function would get improved in the future (or simply be redirected to a Google search?).
Maybe the guys will address the issue once they have recouped from their brilliant work on the server transition.
