That was my initial idea when I thought about buying a replacement for my ageing Coolscan. But then you are almost in Plustek 120 territory, cost wise, which will do 12 35mm frames in one batch, too.
I used to use V330. After I got the 7600 I just keep V330 for office scanning only. It was a pain to clean the glass of V330, not to mention 7600 is ten times sharper - I don't have my comparison samples off hand though.

Even though you exclusively use B&W film you may find yourself scanning some C-41 or E-6 in the future. Either shot by you or a friend or family member or even find shoebox with slides from your dads army days. Just something to think about.
Go for the Plustek 8100. Every test I have ever seen put it ahead of a flat bed for 135 format negs.
Also the 8100 comes with Silverfast 8 that has a multi-exposure / HDR function that will pull considerable detail out of highlights and shadows.
The 8100 is also a lot easier to transport if you are traveling...
