Other Areas Singapore and Malaysia RF Club

The other solution... let the lab scan it for your... I think they even seem to enjoy the pain of scanning.

Other solution is to go digital but I guess that may not be acceptable to many of you.

Hi. Ming here.

Still quite new to RFF. Some pics from my newly acquired GSN 2 weeks ago. Wanted to wait till the film was developed to drop by. Please bear with the slightly damaged pics.

gc1, thanks for the welcome again. :)

Welcome once again to you! Well, same as me. i waited till i acquired the pics from the lab to post here too. You have clean looking pics. Though i understand that the lab screwed up the roll. That would explain the "bars". :D And the exposures are right on. :)

nickchew: I do like your series of pics of your kid. It's nice for your daughter to have a dad who takes photos! She seems to have got very used to being around cameras. :D

nksyoon: A warm welcome to you! Switzerland is a beautiful country to be in. I believe the urge to capture images in such a place must be strong. :)

Alastair: It's been good to have you introduce yourself here too!

My, my this little area is growing, is it not? :)

It is at this juncture where i have the opportunity to say a little something.
I have often heard from a particular Bessa R2 shooter known to all of us.

Wah looks like I'm only really a man part of the time.
But then again I already knew that I'm only the head of my housefhold occasionally ;-) so don't rub it in.

Thanks for looking at my pics. I actually have 2 daughters. I try to make sure that both of them have equal exposure to the camera and have equal number of pics in the gallery. Must be fair... so no sibling rivalry... ;-)

Better rotate your avatar weekly too, Sarah has been up there for a while now :)

Welcome to the club Ming! Do keep those photos coming. Are you into scanning of negatives yourself? It is a very masochistic past-time but I enjoy the pain very much! Glenn, that comment is meant to be private! :p

Fotohub is having a sale on its Fuji Sensia slide film. $5.90 / roll, inclusive of processing. Film expiring Jul 30. At the beach road branch only.

Thanks. Nearly pull my hair out getting all frustrated using a scanner that only supports 2 frames. And it certainly doesn't help when you're balding.
:p

Welcome to RFF Ming :) Very nice photos! But I do have a question... Why is there a tank on the road?!

Haha I see that you are a self scanner as well! Whats your frustrating story, and which scanner are you using?!

Hi Ming, think you need to get the seals replaced, bit of light leak in the frames. Otherwise, I think the pics look about right for a GSN. I think every other person on this thread owns one :)

Susie, I think it must've been a National Day Parade rehersal, thus the armored vehicle. Didn't realise the V200 is still in use, I thought those were destined for the scrap heap a couple of years back. Vietnam War vintage... sorry, I'm a bit of a military buff, just like Peter.

Actually with upgraded diesel engine and auto transmission, the old war horse is a very good air-base defence and urban combat vehicle! All it needs is a better turret and fire control system and you could use it for another 15 years in the mentioned capacity.

What are you guys talking about?
You sound like an armoured divison's dining in!

Hi Susie, Terence, thanks for the welcome.

Terence was right about it being National Day rehearsal. I was trying to finish the roll. I'm using my sis scanner, HP scanjet 3770. It doesn't help when the negative adapter only accepts 2 frames, had to cut the negatives to 2 frames.

The GSN is working well, as it has new seals and was CLA. The camera was from greyhoundman. It was the lab's fault. The lab that I sent the film for processing admitted to adding the chemicals before the water. Several of the customers were affected.

Hi Ming,

Maybe it is time to invest in a dedicated film scanner. Although it makes scanning faster, but you still need to make time for editing the scanned images with PS.

Regards,
Peter

i'm quite pleased with my older canon film scanner.
i think it was what really pushed me into the digital thing yet also to get back to developing my own film again.

Its all boy talk! I thought you were going to join in!

Susie,
Please...There is a difference between army talk and guy talk...
Some one already said that I'm only sometimes a man... please don't doubt my manliness anymore, I can't take it... sigh.
