Where'd my Bessa go?
Glenn, good effort on the first roll. The lens looks fine but like I said, it's probably the meter that's giving erratic readings. Probably wise to open at least 2 more stops from what the meter is telling you to do.

Nice contrasty shot for the first photo! I am impressed with quality of the 40 years old lens! I think that not only the lightmeter is a bit off, I think your rangefinder also need some tweaking and also to clean up the viewfinder too. As for the shot of the dog, I think you are too close to the dog and beyond the close focus distance of the camera. Nick is right about PS tweaking for under-exposed shot. You need to adjust contrast and brightness till it looks well-exposed (but the grain will be more obvious). Most commercial shops does not scan them in color then desaturate to B&W but you could ask them.

Thanks for all the comments and advice everyone. G'man has sent some pictures of what the camera can do with proper metering. I guess when i use the meter properly, the pictures would turn out better.
Here are the pictures done by G'man before the cam got to me. Shot with Kodak 400UC, untouched and using the meter properly.

Hey! That's me! Dad! I am on RFF!
By the way, I am commissioned to do a series of environmental portraits of the local gay community leaders. It will be exhibited in late August. I am thrilled beyond words! My own solo!

Hi Kelvin, what film did you use for the shots? You scanned those shots yourself?

Gentlemen! We are all in our 30s, we have to maintain the mature images of double or more chins and a round belly! Solid 6 packs are for immatured narcisists! Always remember the Mantra, cholesterol makes you happy!
