Some one already said that I'm only sometimes a man... please don't doubt my manliness anymore, I can't take it... sigh.

No lah, Nick. how shall i say it? It takes a good man to stand up to all the women in your life. Nick, the Manly One! Nick, the Brave! Does that restore your sense of manliness? :p

Yesterday, I attended a course, and my course instructor was going around asking if everyone has a camera. When I commented I am using film cameras, he said "You would need a camera for my next course, try to borrow one". Nowadays, it seems that film cameras are no longer considered cameras.

Tsk.... tsk. How did that instructor learn photography? Such a shame really. Manual film cameras let's one learn about photography in it's most fundamental way with the dials on the barrel and not some button on the camera with having to wade through menus just to change something essential.

What do you all think of this image- Venice; winter. Sky's burnt out by post-processing. Thanks, David

Hi David! And welcome to our small corner of cyberspace in RFF. I like the tone of your picture.

I hope you dropped the course, seems like it's being taught by an idiot moonlighting as a pseudo photography instructor.

Anyone interested in tagging on an order for the grey Bessas from our friendly HK CV dealer? They are due out end Aug/early Sep? Price is a tad more than the current black bodies. Email if you're keen.

Ahhh....I feel better already.
Nice to see movement on this board again.
Was quiet for awhile huh...?

I got a light leak on my M6!!! Arrrgghhhh!!!!! (pull hair... curse vulgarities....)
But thankfully only under certain odd conditions.

Terence,
Where to get it repaired? Think I should wait till I get home?

By the way it wasn't a digital photography course was it?

Heh heh... I attended a photojournalism night school course. The teacher was very nice. He said I don't care what camera you use... you can use a disposable for all I care, just take good photos.

Replacing light seals is a DIY job, it's not too hard. Probably take you about an hour if you're doing it for the first time. It'd save you a bunch of $$ and allow you to learn more about your camera in the process.

Check out these links...

A step by step explanation...

Aki Asahi's excellent page where you can order the seals for US$10.

His installation instructions...

Good luck! Once you've done it, maybe I can send a few of my older cams to you to work on ;)

oooh.
I agree. Putting in the light seals is easy peasy. But scraping out that Leica glue plus paint ....ouch!

Hope your M6 TTL gets better soon Nick. Any luck on the suggested experiments in the other thread?

Hi there! Anyone here uses or used the Voigtlander 90mm/3.5 before? I have a sudden unexpected raise in the form of post-graduate allowance and I would like to get one for landscape and portrait. :)

Here's a recent shot with the 90/3.5. Nothing much, just to show that it's capable of nice sharp images. Handheld 1/15, iso 800.

I thought you sold your 75mm recently, you sure about getting a 90mm?

That is sharp! What camera did you use? I just want a lens longer than a 75mm. How would you grade your 90mm/3.5?

The lens just shows the slightest hint of brassing on the mounting ring, all other bits are nice and black. Image shot with the R-D1. It's quite a bit longer than the 75mm physically though the reach is only marginally more. I personally prefer the extra stop which the 75 offers.

The optical quality of the lens is excellent. I could live with the size, it makes the lens look more sexy! Size does matters in telephotos!
